Already staggering and on its heels following Captain Jim's 104 at Burning Tree OLD and his announcement that he has, once again, quit golf, Team USA took another hit last week when charter member and captain-in-waiting Mark Skiba announced his retirement from the game. Losing the stalwart of Team USA may be the final straw that breaks the Kiva Cup's proverbial back.
When asked for an explanation regarding his retirement, Skiba let the announcement speak for itself. "I just retired. Nothing more, nothing less. Just retired. I still love the game, but I'm gonna call Freddie and see if he wants to hang out and compare notes. I like other things now, and I want to get involved in my community and whatnot."
A participant in every Kiva Cup since the event's inaugural, Skiba's departure follows the decision of the mental giants of the event to expand to 8 man teams. With four huge question marks in the lineup, Team USA is already struggling to fill its roster. Team expansion is widely believed to be an attempt by the Europeans to negate to lopsided handicaps that they believe favor Team USA. While ignoring the fact that a person with a handicap above 14 should not be playing a course like Kiva Dunes, the Europeans believe that by adding more club champions to their roster, it will relieve the pressure the Hawks and Cool Hand Luke feel to carry the team. Skiba was perennially the only member of Team USA that had a chance against Europe's "A Flight" team.
"Well, that's a big loss no doubt. What I am concerned with RIGHT NOW though is the job that Coach Gaspard has done in his first season with this Alabama baseball team. I tell you what, had Coach J. Stanley "Skip" Bertman not called in the favor to halt the title game in the middle of the 9th yesterday, Ross Parker-Wilson would have led us to victory in the bottom of the inning. The rain delay obviously benefited a reeling LSU team and hurt our boys. "Skip" must be Cajun for "Roy"."
With Team USA's captain and captain-in-waiting seemingly out, it is unclear at this time to whom Jammy will tender his resignation. "I'll tender it, no doubt. I just don't want to address it "To Whom it May Concern". That seems a little unprofessional."

I reckon Castle Mark Skiba will "come on back" to the Kiva Cup Family. You can't put any stock in Jim quitting, he quits as a matter of principle, 4 or 5 times a year. A team you don't want to face come October.....Caste and old captain Jim. Facing Them? Not...a...good...plan.
I'm not so sure. Brian says that he is scared of him now that Brian consistently shoots in the 70's and Kevin now shoots in the 60's.

I don't thnk Mark is scared of Brian. I actually can't remember a single time that Brian has ever beaten Mark Skiba in the golfing. I sort of think Mark will come on back once the oil finishes of the entire Southeast. The green fee at Kiva Dunes will be $5, plus tax. That will be fun for him.
Please tell me you all know that 90% of the time it is Brian posting as me. I'd sue him for identity theft, but since we live together, it could become kind of awkward.
I wasn't going to post anything, but the word verification was 'pankers', which I thought was funny. Katie, you saw the news story from Arkansas where the kid filed charges against his mom because she hacked in to his Facesbooks acocunt. There's precedent. Pankers, y'all.
I enjoy this blogsite. It is fun for me. I sure do enjoy to visit it. 91 days, 17 hours and 2 minutes until Alabama football kicks off. Does Auburn have a team this year?
Is R. Dalton Huguley playing in the Kiva Cup in 2010?
