Weekend Recap

Joined by Cooper Hawk, seven members of the Kiva Cup contingent celebrated Chris' birthday Saturday with a round of the golfing at Highland Park Golf Course.  Fun naturally ensued.  At the end of the day, Skiba and Hawk shared low score honors with 68.  Captain Burnett continued his early season torrent with a smashing 74, three strokes better than the birthday boy who shot 77.  Sean finished with, what had to be for him, a disappointing 80.  Cooper the Hawk fired an 82 while All Conference USA Frosh Zac and Team USA Jr. Member Jrod both shot 84.

Who won?  Who knows.

"I shot 68 and lost, that's all I know", reported Skiba.

In other news, Jim shot a little 49-43 at the home of the Kiva Cup, Kiva Dunes Golf Club in Gulf Shores, Alabama.  He played with two LSU fans that talked a lot.  "They do not like Coach Les Miles", Jim reported after his round.

As usual, Jammy was missing from the action this weekend.  When questioned why he didn't play, Jammy offered a very straight forward response.  "I just can't get excited about it [golf] this year.  I just can't. I've tried to watch the Bobby Jones Story, Phil's Top Ten US Open Meltdowns, The Haney Project, even that golf travel show with the girl in the bikini. Nothing.  I hope everyone understands that I am not going to Kiva this year. It will devastate my father-in-law, but I may not even take my clubs to the beach next week."

You better not disappoint STEVE JACKSON! He is a true gentleman of the game.

Hey Katie!

Brian was impressed with Jim's 92. I asked why when my husband is shooting in the 70's like its his job he would be impressed with a match of golf in the 90's. I guess I don't understand because he said Jarrod played like a blind black elderly woman at Highland and he shot 84. The last time I checked that was better than 92.

For those of you paying attention, the REAL Katie Burnett did NOT post the comment above.

I mean, I didn't even really understand that comment.

There's just not as much excitement over the Kiva Cup this year, I reckon, what with USA retaining early and all. My verification word is cocusn. That's a funny word.
