The Yellow Ball is BACK (like Bama)

The Yellow Ball returns to competition.
The Cup legends reunited once again.
CCPOTY, the definition of hard-noised.

From AP wire reports
April 30, 2012

In perhaps the most stunning development in the storied 10 year history of The Kiva Cup, founding Team USA member and Kiva legend James L. "Jammy" Erwin, aka CCPOTY, has agreed to rejoin Team USA. This follows the departure of one and done member, Bobby Huffman "Vikings" due to a scheduling conflict. After weeks of intense negotiations with Erwin, a final agreement was reached over lunch last week at George Sarris' Fish Market in downtown Birmingham.

Erwin, who went 3-1 in his last Cup appearance in 2010, was asked if he was concerned the 18-month layout would affect his game, Erwin responded, "Look, when you're a 24.5 handicap (28 Kiva home course) your game doesn't have a lot of room to fall. So, no, I am not concerned.  I am thrilled to be back playing with my good friends and look forward to getting back to work. I've had alot of time to work on the mental aspects of the game in the last 18 months."

Longtime Team USA Captain, said to be in tears, was reached on the range at Burningtree GC (Old) and had this prepared statement: "Jammy Erwin is the heart and soul of Team USA and The Kiva Cup. I have known Jammy most of my life and I have to admit that I was somewhat lost last year without his calming influence. On top of that, I was without my favorite Kiva Cup partner. Europe should be prepared once again for a heavy dose of Jammy (28) and myself (16). I say bring on Brick, The Doctor, what-have-you. 2 strokes on #3 sure is nice to have in a match of golf."  Hartsell / Erwin are 11-7 all time in Kiva Cup partnerships.

European Captain Brian J. W. Burnett was in the middle of a Death Match, at Scottish links style Ballantrae GC in Clanton, when he was approached by Steve Sands of Golf Channel seeking comment, "I have nothing to say to you Sands. This is a joke dreamed up by Skiba and Jim. The only thing that matters is who controls the carts in Singles. All the rest is a lot of sound and fury signifying nothing. We will retain this Cup with relative ease. I'll have Chris calling for Jim's ouster before Memorial Day."

The 10th Annual Kiva Cup will be held at Kiva Dunes Golf Resort from October 18-20.

Wow. Welcome back Jammy. I hope I get paired with you this year.

We hope the rules aren't written to favor the inferior players of Team USA once again this year. What happens when Jammy gets 2 strokes on a hole? We have never understood how that works. That seems like cheating.

¡Gracias! ¡Gracias! Gracias Capitán Hartsell! Estamos muy contentos de leer la declaración del Sr. Erwin al equipo de Estados Unidos. Nuestro trabajo acaba de conseguir infinitamente más fácil!

Well my goodness I almost hate to miss the Cup now. I have a lot of respect for Jammy. He's just a good, solid guy. Every time I have beaten him 8 & 7 he's shaken my hand afterwards like a gentleman. On a side note, Brian will really have his hands full with 4 Kiva Cup rookies this year.

When are you guys going to let Casey Grate play again?

I am so happy about this I am going to let you pay for all your golf up front! No more waiting in line while I get frustrated that 16 people are in my shop at the same time.

Let's keep this real. If Hawk cannot play Team Europe is dead. No way I can lose one of my best players, deal with a 26 handicap, and deal with Zac and Sam's slow play. Hawk can we get a car seat installed in the golf cart to make this happen? I'm begging you Hawk like I used to beg for zesty Italian hamburger helper.

I am so happy for Captain Hartsell and Vice-Captain Skiba! They need CCPOTY. I feel he will be the key deciding factor in Team USA reclaiming the Kiva Cup. He is a good, hard-noised, man of golf.
