PUMA SIGNS RISING GOLF STAR MARK SKIBA

Boston, MA (August 09, 2010) – Today PUMA® announced Mark Skiba, will join the sportlifestyle brand’s roster of world-class athletes, among them: golf star Rickie Rowler, track and field star Usain Bolt, baseball player, Johnny Damon, and race car driver, Kasey Khane. When asked to comment on this latest business development Skiba had this to say:
“I’m really excited to be a part of the Puma team. The clothes are both cool and comfortable and I look forward to wearing them when representing Team USA at this year’s Kiva Cup."
“Mark brings a unique blend of sport and lifestyle to the game, which fits the PUMA brand perfectly. His wide ranging interests off the course brings a crossover appeal that will resonate with a whole new generation of golfers,” said Robert Philion, Global Business Unit Manager, PUMA Golf. “As the PUMA Golf business continues to grow worldwide, it’s important for us to have players in our portfolio who bring a sense of style and excitement to the world of golf, reinforcing our mantra of Look Better, Feel Better, Play Better.”
The partnership, reached through an agreement with PUMA and SFX Golf, will make the sportlifestyle brand Skiba’s official supplier of PUMA Golf product on and off the course. He will also be featured in the Spring/Summer 2011 marketing campaigns for the brand, specifically for the golf category.
