Except, there is not much to report. Team Europe has gone dark, an annual ploy by the heavily favored Euros and their captain Brian Burnett. Four members of Team USA visited a golf course this weekend, though it’s believed that only three members of Team USA actually played a round of golf.

Also Friday afternoon, Americans Big House and 17 battled at Pine Tree Country Club. Playing “one foot from the back tips”, the ol’ Yiddish club gave it to the Kiva Cup rookies early and often, earning its reputation as one of the nicest, yet challenging, tracks in East/Northeast Jefferson County area.
17 reported, “We played a foot from the back edge. It was a death match that ended all square. Somehow, Tony won $25. We were fighting to see who would be the last to puke, because both of us played poorly! Tony shot 81, I shot 92. Battle of the bads.”

Notwithstanding the pedestrian play, the rookies felt that the round prepared them for Kiva. 17 stated, “It got real edgy on the last 4 holes. No one spoke due to the tension of the match! Dead silence! Kiva like! It almost came to fist a few times! As you know, I'm edgy!”
To his credit, Big House relied on his experience and didn’t let 17’s edginess bother him. “17 is quite the competitor. The intensity level was raised quite a bit”, the rookie said.
Team USA Junior Member JRod also played this weekend, visiting the golf course at Oak Mountain State Park for an early morning round Saturday. At Oak Mountain, “Wildlife often wander onto the fairways and greens. Please honor their right of way.” “I had never played there, “ JRod said, “It’s quite the challenge. The fairways and the rough were right up there with any other public course that lets Team USA play. The Bermuda greens were a bit grassy, and very, very slow, but it was a nice experience. It was the most fun that I could’ve had shooting 47-42.”

So, that’s the weekend that was in Kiva Cup happenings. Seems the majority of participants were more interested in college football this past Saturday. Big House actually called out one team member, telling him to “wake up! Get working on your game”. The rookie being loud. This is going to be a fun cup.
Don’t forget to vote for Clarke Burns’ nickname. Round one starts today (9/27) and ends Friday (10/1). The poll is at the top right of this screen.
In closing, I’ll pass along an invitation presented by Team USA rookie Tony “Big House” Harmon. Please RSVP directly to Tony:
“Have ya'll ever heard of the Victors? Best fight song around (at least to me aka big house). If anyone ever wants to go to a Big Ten game let me know.”

Hello. I am Tida Woods. Not many comments on the blogweb these days. I fear Burnett try to cheat these Cups to win. He make up stories about Boss Hawk running things. Cheating sad in Thailand and also Wales where Eldrick playing in Ryders Cup. My Edrick best Ryder cupping player of all times, die Phil die in Hell. That all i say now.
Captain Burnett is a fine man and is all about fairness and equality for most people from what I hear.

Is True Hawk versing in this Cup of Golf or not? I heard he's running things now. Great, great site guys. Thanks.
From what I hear this will not be known until Wed October 20th after work. I have heard rumors that he may warm up at another course and just show up on the first tee.
