Ballantrae GC - Scotland, Alabama
In a highly touted Secret Match, Vice-Captain Skiba got to know the 2 newest members of Team USA, Sam & Bobby, at the Scottish Links known as Ballantrae. Skiba, commenting before the round: "If it wasn't 104 degrees, I'd swear to Cam I was about to tee off at the Ailsa Course at Turnberry."
The match, as you would expect with @ZMWard involved, turned into a Fósforo de muerte, or Death Match. The match, Ward/Thompson vs Skiba /Huffman, came to the dreaded 18th at Ballantrae ALL SQUARE. Thompson's par was not good enough, as he was giving up a stroke to Skiba and Bob. The final result, Skiba/Bob 1 UP over Ward/Sam.
More from USA Vice-Captain Skiba: "I'm too busy to provide a lot of details of the golf. I've got to meet people, at various places, to discuss issues. Going to hang with Coach Mac Brown and Major General Applewhite tomorrow in AUstin, so I've had to hunker down and actually work. All I can say is this - one of the most epic matches in Kiva Cup, if not golfing, history. And I'll add, @ZMWard has received a promotion to Temporary Junior Member within the ranks of Team USA based on the 2 additions he has brought to the table. I would pay to watch some of the potential matches that will come about in November. The more I think about it, I don't see Brian caring for it."
Burningtree GC (Old)
USA Captain J. Hartsell birdied #1 and it all went downhill from there, leading to the worst 85 that has ever been recorded by a golfer. Jordan played solid, +4 thru 14, before an errant chip on 15 led to an 82. Uncle Lee came in with an 83. Jordan returns to AJGO action on Saturday at historic Goose Pond GC in Scottsboro. We at the Kiva Cup are looking for @JordanHartsell to bring home the victory.
Kiva Dunes GC
It was reported that Chief (Emeritus) had an 8:08 tee time at the Home of Cup. Was he actually there? Only you can decide.

Yes, I too enjoyed our golfing scramble. It was good to get back out on the "links" again. I hope I didn't leave you guys in a bad spot by quitting after 9. Mail was not the issue. That's a good one! I had to get home to pressure wash my deck. Looking forward to next year's tournament. Is it ok if I borrow your old set on Wilson Staff irons again?

Jammy as you know I like a good laugh as long as its clean. You can use the Wilson's on one condition. You must continue to be in the Barbershop Quartet. Your talent is the best TBC has seen since Billy Joe Newman left us to become a Methodist. I don't reckon we will see him on the other side.
PS I have some extra Thompsons Water Seal if you need me to drop it by before the Tuesday Troop 58 meeting.
